What will you do should an earthquake happen?

 

First thing to consider when earthquake happen is your location. Are you inside the building or are you outside.

Here are the things you should do when you are inside the building:

1. You have to stay calm and dont panic.

2. You have to perform drop cover and hold on. Hiding under a sturdy table may not always applicable all the time because there will be a lot of time that only chairs are available in your area. When this instances happen, stay away from glass window and find something to cover your head for falling object and crouch in an inside corner of the building..

3. Do not hide under the bed. The space is too low which makes you unable to move when the ceiling collapse.

4. Stay inside until the shaking stops and it is safe to go outside. Do go outside or exit the building when there is still shaking. You might get injured if you try to exit when there is still shaking of the ground.

5. Do not use the elevator you might trap inside when electricity is cut during earthquake.

6. Once shaking stops, follow the evacuation procedure or signage posted in the wall and evacuate the building according to the plan.

7. While doing the evacuation procedure, consider that aftershocks may happen from time to time so you still have to cover your self from falling objects.

If You Are Outdoor you might consider the following steps listed below:

1. When your outside stay there.

2. Stay away from building and any falling object. It would be much better if you are in an open space.

3. Just stay in an open space until the shaking stops.

4. Do not go inside your house to check your belongings, aftershocks may happen from time to time.
